The warm, natural glow of beeswax casts an ambiance that transcends the experience of any other candle wax. Unlike petroleum-based candles and other "natural" waxes, beeswax candles burn cleaner, brighter and longer without releasing toxins into the indoor air. Beeswax also emits a subtle, sweet scent of honey or flowers depending on what the bees forage on. Beeswax is the only wax that is not made in a factory. It is made by our friends, the honeybee, and using beeswax supports small USA beekeepers. We do not add any chemicals, dyes, or fragrances to keep our beeswax as pure as possible. We purchase only from trusted beekeepers located in the Eastern United States and utilize only triple filtered capping wax in our candles. Capping wax is the top layer of wax that covers the honey (the cleanest wax in the hive) and it is premium wax. Our wax is so pure it can be used in cosmetics. We only use 100% cotton wicks made in the USA so there is not any lead, zinc or other metals in the wick. If you want to eliminate synthetics and live a more natural life, beeswax candles are a way to start. We only offer 100% beeswax candles. Be cautious as a candle is considered beeswax if 51 percent of the candle is made with beeswax.

All of our candles are made in our Crestwood, KY Beelight Luminaries LLC home candle studio. We utilize only the purest beeswax so much so it can be used in cosmetics and obtain our wax from small family beekeepers in the Eastern United States.
Beeswax candles should always be lit at the base of the wick. Beeswax has a higher melting point than most waxes so you need to keep the flame in contact with the wick until a small pool of wax develops to fuel the flame. It is best to use a stick/utility lighter rather than matches as the stick lighter has a more consistent flame.
Over time and especially in cooler temperatures, beeswax candles will develop a whitish film known as bloom. Bloom is naturally occurring patina and it is proof that it is 100% beeswax. Bloom does not affect how your candle will burn and can be easily removed from solid candles using a soft cloth or by warming the surface with a hair dryer. Just remember don’t get so close to the candle or luminary and damage the surface.
We test our candles for burn times and burn quality. We estimate burn time based upon on our testing results. All beeswax candles vary in burn time and each candle has specific burn and care instructions on the website. This is based on width, height, shape and design. Burn times are approximate because the environmental conditions, candleholder, and candle maintenance can all affect burn quality and burn duration.
If you have any concerns or questions, please contact us as soon as you are aware of the issue. If there is shipping damage or issues with the product, we will need pictures of the product and packaging. We want our customers to be completely satisfied and happy with their purchase. We will work to solve any issues that arise. WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS, EXCHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS.
100% Beeswax candles never go rancid. The cool thing is you can burn the candle or just use it as a beautiful home decor piece. It will always be ready to burn when you are.
Beeswax pillar and taper candles are known to be the only natural dripless candle available. However, being dripless all depends on ambient air temperature, drafts, and candle maintenance so we do not guarantee a dripless candle. Other candles that are sold as dripless have been treated with a chemical to prevent dripping. Beeswax candles are more likely to be dripless because they have a higher melting point and burn slower than other types of candle wax. However, ANY candle will drip with drafts, air movement or uneven burning. If you notice the melted wax pool is getting too close to the sides, you can extinguish and “hug” (see below) the candle to even out the edges. Tapers are more susceptible to drafts than any other candle. Always remember to keep candles away from drafts, place candles on a protective plate or surface, and never leave a candle unattended and as always follow the directions we have for each product in the description on this site.
Of course people love their candles, but do you really need to hug them? Hugging a beeswax candle is a term used to describe pushing in and down on the softened wax on the top sides of the candle. (SEE VIDEO OF HUGGING ON THIS SITE). After you burn the candle the required 1 hour per inch of width, you should hug the candle to even out the sides, bring the melt pool level with the outside walls, and prevent tunneling. The goal is to push in the softened wax and down into the melted pool of wax. This will insure you use all the wax you can and allows the candle to burn longer and more evenly. Hugging your candle too much can either raise the melt pool above the sides and cause dripping or it could drown the wick so be careful. Be sure to trim the wick after hugging.
We hand pour, dip, or roll all our handcrafted pure beeswax candles and wax luminaries with the highest standards. Our beeswax comes from the Eastern United States and is triple filtered for the highest purity so much so it can be used in cosmetics. Beeswax is a high end candle because it burns cleaner, longer, and brighter and has the natural aroma of honey and flowers. We are a small shop and offer small batch, quality products. We only use 100% cotton wicks- again made in the USA. We prime our own wicks so we know they are primed with pure beeswax. Oftentimes, preassembled wicks purchased and used by many candlemakers are primed in paraffin wax.
We want you to love the clean burning, long lasting golden glow of 100% beeswax candles as much as we do. We sell a beautiful burning experience and great customer service- not just a candle.
We back our products will a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you don't love our candles, we will refund the price of the candle for any reason. Shipping will not be refunded. We are currently only shipping to the 48 contiguous states. The best way to love our candles is to avoid drafts and to read the specific product listing burning tips from the site. Ask us questions on how to burn as we believe education on the science of beeswax candle burning is important to your overall candle experience.
Beelight Luminaries LLC started as a hobby and has turned into a passion and a small home based business. My husband and I create 100% handcrafted pure beeswax candles, wax luminaries and bee themed items in our home studio in Crestwood, KY. All of our candles are pure beeswax and are hand poured, hand dipped, or hand rolled to perfection.
Why is my passion Beeswax candles? I believe beeswax is the most soothing and most natural glow of all waxes.
Enjoying the peace and calmness of a beeswax candle glow is meditative. It restores your soul and allows you to rest from the troubles of the day. Grab a cup of tea, coffee or whatever your guilty pleasure and enjoy the moment with those you love.
I have had a rough go of it for several years and believe that living in the moment and being with those you love is the top priority. I have battled breast cancer and more recently was given a gift of life. In September of 2019, I was given my life back when a friend donated her kidney to me.
I find the process of making beeswax candles relaxing and a way of communing with nature. I believe protecting the environment and offering non toxic, pure products is more important than most realize.
I support the bees and all their beautiful works - they really are miraculous. We are careful to choose the cleanest raw materials and packaging with the smallest environmental footprint. Beeswax also protects candle lovers from toxic indoor air. I want to spread the beauty of beeswax and hope you find our products to be one of your guilty pleasures. ENJOY!!
